Taking a screenshot on a Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook is straightforward, thanks to the multiple tools and shortcuts Chrome OS provides. Here’s a breakdown of the available methods:

Using Keyboard Shortcuts

Chrome OS offers several quick keyboard combinations for capturing screenshots:

  1. With the Show Key
    • Press Shift + Ctrl + Show (the Show key looks like a rectangle with two vertical lines).
    • This brings up a menu to choose between full-screen, partial, or window screenshots.
  2. Without the Show Key
    • If you’re using an external keyboard without a Show key, press Shift + Ctrl + F5 instead.
  3. Adjusting the Screenshot Area
    • Use the Tab key to change the size of a screenshot window, or press the Space bar to toggle through the available capture options.

Using the Screenshot Tool

Introduced in Chrome OS 89, the Screen Capture tool is an easy way to take screenshots or record your screen.

  1. Accessing the Tool
    • Open the Quick Settings menu (bottom-right corner of the screen).
    • Click on Screen Capture.
  2. Choosing Your Capture Type
    • Select whether you want a full-screen, window, or partial screenshot.
    • For screen recording, select video mode and adjust the capture area.
  3. Capturing the Image
    • Once you’ve set up the area, press the Capture button to take your screenshot or start recording.

Where to Find Your Screenshots

After capturing, your screenshots are automatically saved to the Clipboard and can be accessed from several locations:

  • Tote: A feature introduced with Chrome OS 89 that stores recent screenshots, downloads, and pinned files. Open it from the Shelf for quick access.
  • Downloads Folder: Screenshots are saved here by default unless you specify a different location in the settings.

To change the save location, press Shift + Ctrl + Show, then go to Settings > Select folder, and choose your preferred directory.

With these tools and shortcuts, capturing what’s on your screen has never been easier on the Chromebook!
