Latest Galaxy S20 update comes with Maintenance Mode

At the beginning of last November, Samsung released the One UI 5.0 update, which is its interface based on Android 13, for Galaxy S20 series equipment. Subsequently, the company released a new update that arrived with the Android security patches for the month of December 2022, and now a new update is being made available.
The update for the Galaxy S20 is being made available all over Europe, including in Portugal. and takes the firmware for version number G98**XXUFGVL5. The official changelog of the South Korean company only talks about improvements in function stabilization and additional security.
However, after going over the news of this new update, it was found that Samsung has made its maintenance mode available. For those who don’t know what it is, it is a feature that the company had announced at the end of last October and is part of One UI 5.0. While some Galaxy devices received the same on Android 13 launch day, others did not, but Samsung is working to correct this oversight with follow-up updates.
This maintenance mode can be activated in the Settings – Device and Battery Maintenance menu, and is essentially used when sending your device for repair, in order to hide all personal data, such as images, videos and third-party applications, keeping all key features enabled.
Thanks to the maintenance mode, the user doesn’t need to reset his phone when he wants to repair it, thus keeping his data safe. Also, anything Samsung service personnel install or change during the repair process is deleted, or reverted, when you disable this mode.
