Atari Completes Acquisition of Nightdive Studios and All Its Games

Last March we revealed here that Atari had announced the acquisition of Nightdive Studios, for an amount of around 23 million. Today’s news is that this deal has already passed all the legal procedures, and has now been concluded.

In detail, the purchase price for Nightdive Studios consists of an initial consideration of $9.5 million paid in cash, for $4.5 million of new Atari stock for $5 million.

In turn, Nightdive Studios buys back the rights to old games that are no longer on the market, updates them to make them compatible with modern platforms, and offers them for sale on platforms like Steam. For those who don’t know, he is the author of some remasters, such as System Shock, Quake and Doom 64. With the studio’s portfolio, Atari will enrich its catalog that includes more than 200 games.
