THE OBJECTIVES OF 54th PORTSMOUTH SCOUT GROUP ARE AS A UNIT OF THE SCOUT ASSOCIATION. THE PURPOSE OF THE SCOUTING IS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN ACHIEVING THEIR FULL PHYSICAL,INTELLECTUAL,SOCIAL AND SPIRITUAL POTENTIALS, AS INDIVIDUALS, AS RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS AND AS MEMBERS OF THEIR LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES.
To deliver the air cadet experience to children aged 12 to 20.
To supply recognised scouting activities to members in accordance with the balanced programme of the scout association.
For the public benefit, to promote the rehabilitation and resettlement of offenders and ex-offenders, and to undertake preventative work with people who are at risk of offending, in Northwest England, Wales, Cheshire and the surrounding area by such charitable means as the trustees in their absolute discretion deem appropriate and within a Christian ethos.

The objects of the charity are to support children and young people in relation to their digital and technological activities and enable them to participate in a digital-first society as enabled and responsible individuals through education for the public benefit in digital and technological literacy, skills and competencies, including by carrying out research and publishing the useful results
General Scout Group activites
Provides a drop-in centre for the elderly once a week with transport for those who need it. Provides a social outlet for the elderly in order to keep them in their own homes for as long as possible rather than going into residential accommodation. Organise trips and other social events.
