The charity makes grants to organisations and individuals that that meet its core criteria of promoting social inclusion and good physical and mental health among young people in Dorset and the surrounding areas.
We are an independent volunteer counselling service based in York City, providing professional short-term (usually 6 weeks) counselling and support to the local community from 16 years old onwards. Presenting issues may include anxiety, mild to moderate depression, bereavement, domestic and relationship issues, addiction, post-trauma effects and the long-term impact of early life events.

It pays expenses to its volunteer counsellors and counselling supervision. It pays other costs associated with running a charity, such as salary to to part time managers, marketing, accounting services, insurance etc.
Abacus is an independent counselling organisation providing individual and personal confidential support. Abacus's experienced counsellors are trained in many aspects of counselling and are able to facilitate a wide range of counselling services to meet the needs of the local community. Counsellors at Abacus work with people on an individual basis, in a private and confidential setting.
