Activities include arts and craft, games, sporting activities and camping. We organise external people to give talks either on our premises or at their own premises such as Police dog handlers, Police helicopter, RSPCA, Fire Brigade, A drive in a 4 wheel drive vehicle over an assault course.
We aim to promote the development of young people in achieveing their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local and international communities.The method of achieving the Aim is by providing an enjoyable & attractive scheme of progressive training based on the Scout Law and Promise guided by adult leadership.

Provision of a safe and secure meeting place for 1st Houghton Scout and Guide Groups. Managing and maintaining the HQ (known as the "hut") building, the fenced land immediately around the building and the access pathway for and on behalf of these groups.
