Scout Group
The objective of the group is to operate as a unit of the Scouts Association, providing activities including the promotion and development of young people, as individuals and as group members. This spans local, national and international communities.
SCOUT GROUP COMPRISING BEAVERS, CUBS AND SCOUTS PROVIDING STRUCTURED LEARNING AND PLAY FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS
Runs a Beaver Scout Colony, Cub Scout Pack and Scout Troop based at Monkseaton

Scouts prepares young people with skills for life helping them speak up and play their part. Each week we give almost half a million people aged 6-25 the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.
We run groups for children starting at one year old through to junior school age.The group encourage imaginative play and social interaction.The sessions also help parents experience new ways to help advance their childs development and communication skills.Annually we to run sessions on a wide range of subjects,all based on scientific and practical experience.Free of charge to parents & carers.
Our objectives include providing recreational facilities for adults with learning disablities. Allowing members to socialise with their peers in an informal setting. Activities include bingo,darts,ball games & music to dance to.We encourage social interaction/ speech by conversation with peers & staff over a soft drink or a cup of tea & snack..We offer help & advice as required to members carers.
21 Plus is a charity which supports, nurtures and empowers children and young people with Downs Syndrome and their families.Our activities focus on building the communication skills of our children and young people, providing opportunities to develop friendships and independence and ensuring that families have the necessary information and support to ensure their child reaches their potential.
Raising Expectations in the Down's syndrome community. We provide training, therapy/interventions for children and young people, parent support and awareness sessions for the wider community.

The Scout group provides education and training opportunities to its members, including activities in arts, culture, sport and recreation. We provide our own premises for these activities including outdoor space.Many activities are provided through overnight camps and away days. We also provide care and counselling services to those members in need.
The 216 Squadron Association is established to enabling serving and former members of 216 Squadron to mix together, encouraging esprit de corps and maintaining a living memory of the unit.It aims to look after the welfare of serving and former members and is involved in the commissioning of a memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum to commemorate all those who served on the Squadron.
