Scout Group for Buxted
As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, the 1st Buxton Lamas Sea Scout Group give young people of Buxton and surrounding areas the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed.
WE ARE A SCOUT GROUP WHO WAS FOUNDED IN 1908 AND COVER ALL SECTIONS OF THE SCOUTING MOVEMENT. THESE ARE BEAVERS, CUBS AND SCOUTS. WE COVER A BROAD RANGE OF ACTIVITIES INVOLVING COMMUNITY PROJECTS, THE HEALTH AND WELL BEING AND DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG THROUGH A STRUCTURED SYSTEM WHICH HAS BEEN PROVEN OVER THE LAST 100 YEARS.

Scouting activities for boys and girls in the local area.
Scouting activities for boys and girls living in the Group's catchment area, which includes Coelbren, Caehopkin, Penycae and Abercrave in the Swansea Valley. The Group has a Beaver Colony, a Cub Scout Pack and a Scout troop.

To promote the development of young people in achieveing their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential. This is done through the provision of an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law, and guided by adult leadership.
We offer a club with weekly meetings providing information and activities for youngsters

THE GROUP IS A UNIT OF THE SCOUT ASSOCIATION WHICH PROMOTES DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN ACHIEVING THEIR FULL PHYSICAL, INTELLECTUAL, SOCIAL & SPIRITUAL POTENTIALS, AS INDIVIDUALS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS & MEMBERS OF THEIR LOCAL, NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES. General Scouting /Marine activities. i.e. camping,hiking,canoeing,sailing etc.
The purpose of scouting is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. We provide a structured training for young people from 6 to 16.
To provide scouting for young people age 6 to 14 (boys & girls). Aims: To develop the young person mentally, physically and spiritually, using a varied programme of activities and events.
We provide a safe environment where young people can develop to the best of their own potential, under the guidance of adults who have been approved by the Scout Association and work within the Association's rules and policies. A strict child protection policy exists. All leaders have received a CRB check.Our motto is Do your best.

PROVIDES OUT OF SCHOOL ACTIVITES FOR 6YR OLDS - 14 YR OLDS BOYS AND GIRLS WITHIN THE SCOUTING MOVEMENT
Scouting, with active Squirrel, Beaver, Cub and Scout groups members of both sexes welcome
1st Castleberg (Settle ) Scout Group provides outdoor and indoor activities for boys and girls aged 6 to 14. The group is part of the wider Scout movement.
