To help young local people to achieve the aims of the Scouting movement and give them the opportunity to gain skills which will promote a solid foundation for their life ahead.

The training of young people in scouting skills with particular emphasis on self reliance, initiative, team spirit and leadership skills, and guided by the scout law & promise. A wide range of activities are included in the structured training programme including first aid, map reading, pioneering skills and camping and there is an emphasis on the outdoors which covers a very wide range of activit
We are a Scout group which includes Beavers, Cubs, Sea Scouts and Explorer Scouts. We fund raise to pay for the upkeep of our scout group headquarters and to give our young people as many opportunties to attend various scouting activities i.e. camping

Running Beaver, Cubs and Scout Group
The Charity provides facilities and personnel to direct and assist children in Indoor/Outdoor activities in accordance with guidelines and regulations laid down by the Scout Association and County and/or District Teams. Currently, the Group operates three Sections - Beavers, Cubs and Scouts - and these Sections are open to Boys and Girls of appropriate ages defined by the Scout Association
As a unit of the Scout Association we have provided a full and active programme of education and training for young people. We have maintained a good balance between our plans for improvements to our premises associated facilities, cash flow and fund raising with concentration on leadership and recruitment.

The Group is a member of the Scout Association and provides for the spititual and physical development of young people from the ages of 6 through to 14.

The 3rd Waltham Abbey Scout Group consist of one explorer unit (controlled by the district), two scout troops, two scout parks and two beaver colonies. The hall is also hired out to 1 girl guide section, 3 brownies sections and 1 rainbow section.
