Activate Community and Education Services

Activate provide alternative education and employability skills programmes to those disengaged or at risk of becoming disengaged from education and/or employment, primarily those with disabilities.

Provision of indoor bowling facilities and coach outings plus transport to enable members to attend.

To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances, or for the public at large, with the object of improving their conditions of life.

Fundraising is mainly carried out by members of the public by charitable events. This also serves to raise awareness of the funding possibilities of the charity to families that previously had no access to this type of funding.

We develop, promote and support opportunities for the inclusion of disabled people in their communities by working with them, their families, volunteers & agencies which support them. We offer organisations training, support & advice on best practice. We work with partners to create fun activities for disabled & non-disabled together and to find ways to overcome identified barriers to inclusion.

The ?Active Therapy Foundation? was formed to promote social inclusion, provide an innovative and dedicated coaching therapy programme and to make "Active therapy" available to all by promoting the skills of the members of the disabled community in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet their needs and to participate more fully in society.

Active8 projects aim to empower and motivate young people with physical disabilities in Cornwall to become autonomous individuals by developing their skills, confidence, support structures and aspirations.We support Active8 members to challenge the status quo and be a catalyst for improvement in the quality of life of young individuals and our community.

We provide activities for young people and the general public. The activities are varied from Abseiling, Archery, Music, Arts and Crafts, Aerobics,Cooking. The age range is 5 years to 65 plus.We work with various cultural groups and those with special needs.Our work is based in Coventry and Warwickshire

We provide a Holiday Club environment during Easter and Summer school holidays for children with additional needs and disabilities between the ages of 3 and 19.We also provide an After School Club at Addington School, Woodley, Monday through Friday during Term Time.

To provide people with disabilities access to a range of fun and inclusive activities and social events in their local area that they can choose from.We also aim to work with local and national organisations, including charities to ensure that their experience and expertise, of working and helping people with disabilities, is passed on to AS activities and social events wherever possible.

To improve the quality of life for disabled and disadvantaged people

The principal activities of the charity is to provide courses which give access to life long learning to the disabled and visually impaired persons. In the year, the charity had several outing and courses for the disabled and visually impaired person.

Raising funds to provide extra facilities for Addington School - a school for children with Special Needs aged 2 to 19Involves coffee mornings, fashion shows and summer and Christmas Fayres

AdSurf is based in Bude Cornwall and provides adaptive and accessible surfing to people with disabilities, with mental health conditions or people who are neurodiverse to improve the wellbeing of those taking part and to make this activity and its benefits inclusive.

SUPPORT THE NEEDS OF ADULTS WHO ARE VUNERABLE AS A RESULT OF DISABILITY, AGE OR LIVED EXPERIENCE OF MENTAL HEALTH AND TO PROVIDE FOR THEM TO ACHIEVE AN INDEPENDENT AND SOCIALLY INCLUSIVE LIFESTYLE.

We provide weekend play schemes for all young people with disabilities aged between 5 and 15 years, on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month during school term times. Activities are fun-based and include support by paid staff.Activities include art and drama, cookery, music, indoor and out door games, sensory room, computers, reading, quiet time and occasional outings.

To promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the community in the local government district of Adur and in particular the advancement of education, the protection of health and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness. Provide community transport services for inhabitants of Adur who are in need if a service because of age, sickness, disability, poverty.

The charity has continued with its aim of completing and publishing our Director's PhD on possible influences of breathing quality on outcome in children with cerebral palsy. This research forms the theoretical basis of The Scotson Technique as practised at Advance. Our long-term goal is to gain mainstream recognition on the National Health Service. We also offer hyperbaric oxygen to families.

Provide support and education for people living with special needs and disabilities. Short breaks, residential respite weekends fun days for young carers and unpaid carers. Online and face to face training programmes/ workshops and resources to support people working or volunteering in the disability field.

Advocacy matters (Wales) exists to promote the independent voice and protect the rights and choices of individuals with a disability through a range of advocacy and particiaption services.
