The aim of the Association is to promote the development of young people in achieveing their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. The method of achieving the Aim of the Association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training.
Training in skills and citizenship for boys and girls from the ages of 6 to 14 years, self reliance and respect of all people, fun & companionship.
Based in Old Costessey, providing a programme of activities for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts . Includes weekly meetings for each section and camping weekends, enjoyment of district events and national jamborees.
Scout group offering beavers, cubs & scouts to local youngsters, also have an explorer scout section using our premises.

Burtonwood Scouts actively engages and supports young people between the ages of 4 and 14 in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.
Through progressive training we encourage the phyical, mental and spiritual development of young people as laid down in the aims method and rules of the Scout Association.
Scouting has been in existence for over 100 years and St Michaels was the first Scout Group within the Stourport area. The purpose of Scouting is to promote the development of young people (aged 4 to 25) in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
April Acts of Remembrance marking anniversaries of the Nail Bomb attacks on Brixton, Brick Lane and Soho on the 17th, 24th and 30th April. National Hate Crime Awareness Week between the second to third Saturday in October and an annual HOPE campaign raising Hate crime awareness, improving Operational responses to hate crime, Preventing hate crime and Empowering communities affected by hate crime.

As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, the Penistone Scout Group give young people of Penistone the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed.
