Village Hall for Acklam and Barthorpe

Hall for benefit of people generally living in Ackleton.

Runs Acklington Village Hall for use by the community

ACA manages the Ackroyd Community Centre which is used by up to 20 Lewisham based organisations. The Centre hosts activities for children and parents with play and activities opportunities, a nursery, after school club, holiday play-schemes and parental support projects. It also hosts a range of educational and healthy lifestyle activities and manages the Elder People's Support Project.

Money raised by the Club through a variety of events organised each year is used for the benefit of the local community, whether that be an individual, organisation or an institution serving a wider area which includes ours. Fundraising events include Garage Sales, Quiz Nights, Horse Racing Evenings, Bingo Sessions, Fun Days, Car Treasure Hunts, Raffles, Sponsored events (Cycle, Walk, Skydive) and

The Acle and District Men's Shed provides a dedicated space where men and women aged 18 and overcan socialise, learn from each other and serve the local community through the engagement ofconstructive activities. These activities are often, though not exclusively, practical in nature such as woodworking and DIY skills, and involve working together on joint projects.

The charity maintains the upkeep of the village hall and arranges fund-raising events. These encourage participation by all and ensure a continual village environment. Events include :- Spring and Autumn fairs, beetle drives, quiz's, senior citizens xmas party and other occassional fund raising events.

ACORN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION NEWTON AYCLIFFE is a community based charity which organises events and excursions for the benefit of the residents of Newton Aycliffe and surrounding areas. Many of our residents are of low income, unemployed, elderly or infirm. We seek to improve lives by providing experiences which otherwise would be unaffordable for many.

To provide high quality care and education for children primarily below statutory school age, working in partnership with parents to help them learn and develop. To add to the life and well-being of our local community and offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity.

Acorns Pre School provides care and education for children aged 2-5 years. It is a parent run community group employing a professional team.

ACE is committed to empowering women (and men) and their communities to participate fully in economic and civic life across all sectors as essential to building stronger communities. We work with disadvantaged wo/men, and young adults to help them to improve the quality of life and become more sustainable through our delivery of creative and innovative inclusion and diversity education programmes.

The Centre offers activities to the families of Borstal, Rochester and surrounding areas. We provide a pre-school for children aged two to four and support parents with education and health issues. There is also an information centre, computer suite and internet access.

Grants to organisations to provide services in Bow, East London that will promote local social and economic regeneration.In particular: education and skills training; employment opportunities; recreational and cultural amenities; environmental and quality of life; regeneration and reduction of poverty; health promotion;crime prevention.Match funding will normally be requested from other bodies

Activate operates three levels of activities. The first is recreational activities to get children engaged and active again, these can be sports, arts and crafts in nature. The next tier of activities are skills-based, these activities include Lego engineering, circuits, and design. The final tier of activities are based around meditation and yoga to help children with mental wellbeing and stress

SPORT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

activeNewham provide facilities for recreation, sporting or other leisure time occupation. We have been working with the London Borough of Newham to deliver leisure, sports and volunteering opportunities in Newham since January 2013. Our mission is to support local people to become more active in the local community and we do this by running five leisure centres in Newham.

ABCA has active Tennis and Bowls sections, and there are also specific user groups, i.e. Scottish Dancing, WI, Snooker / Billiards, and TaeKwondo, Ukele band. The funds raised from letting cover most of the maintenance needs of the Parish Rooms. The Bowls and Tennis groups are self sufficient through their membership.
