The main objective of the charity is to provide education based on the principles of Waldorf Education.The charity runs the York Steiner School for pupils aged 3 - 16 yrs old. It also runs Parent & Child groups and offers adult education.
The orchestra's aim is to give amateur musicians in York and the surrounding area the opportunity to rehearse and perform works from the orchestral repertoire. It is particularly keen to encourage younger players, and many of its soloists are young musicians with links to York.

The objectives of YTT is to relieve the poverty, advance the education and promote the health, social and economic welfare of the Gypsy / Traveller community in and around the York area. The core work includes advice, advocacy, conflict resolution, anti-discrimination and promotion of better health, education, community development and social cohesion.

The charity provides pre school education for children aged from 2 years nine months. The group also runs a Mother and Toddler group.

Yorkshire Adoption Agency is a voluntary adoption agency which recruits, trains, prepares and assesses prospective adopters for children requiring new families who orignate from both the UK and overseas. We also provide a post adoption support service to families who have adopted through the agency.
YAS supports and promotes Farming and the Countryside. Best known for organising the Great Yorkshire Show. This is a showcase for the best of agriculture and the countryside.The YAS also undertakes many other charitable activities:-Over 40 education events are held each year.

THE YORKSHIRE AIR MUSEUM & ALLIED AIR FORCES MEMORIAL WAS FORMED IN 1985 ON THE FORMER W.W.2 BOMBER COMMAND STATION, R.A.F ELVINGTON, WITH THE MAIN FOCUS OF PROMOTING THE HISTORY OF AVIATION AND TO PROVIDE A LASTING MEMORIAL TO ALL ALLIED AIR FORCES. THE MUSEUM IS HOME TO OVER 47 COMPLETE AIR FRAMES ON A 20 ACRE PARKLAND SITE WITH OVER 15 PERMANENT EXHIBITIONS.
