Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) was established by HM King Charles III, when he was The Prince of Wales, in 2004. Our aim is to transform finance to make sustainable business, business as usual.
The Charity supports people with sight loss across a large part of East Lancashire and offers a range of services from our refurbished Sight Advice Centre in Accrington.
Nautical youth training for boys and girls aged between 10 yrs and 18 yrs with provision for continuance into adult positions on unit staff & committees. Full training programme based along the lines of Royal Navy customs and adventerous training activities.
We provide a weekly programme encouraging the development of high standards of art in photography via lectures, demonstrations, workshops and competitions. Our key activities will be to educate people about the industrial, military and transport heritage of Accrington. We own a 1975 single-deck bus, the last surviving example painted in the dress uniform colours of the Accrington Pals. We are currently restoring this as a community asset by means of a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant and equipping it as a learning and exhibition vehicle.
