The charity is a trust established on 13/09/1938, upon the boy scouts association trust deed of 1935.
The organization is part of the international Scouting Organisation. The aim is to provide educational, social and recreational activities for young people of both genders. The organisation is non denominational, young people from all religions and back grounds are welcomed.
The purpose of the charity was to offer local children the opportunity to join a local Scout group who would actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. Young People are encouraged to achieve their development by a series of challenges and community projects.
